Microsoft Copilot: The Announcement of the Year

Take your productivity to the next level with Microsoft’s unmatched AI assistant

Microsoft Copilot: The Announcement of the Year

AI has been the hot topic for a few years now and it looks like it’s not going anywhere.

We’ve seen ChatGPT and Dall-E, and now we have Microsoft Copilot.

If you’re a client of ours, you’ll probably remember that product name from our customer event in December where we flawlessly executed a live demo – we're still amazed we pulled that off smoothly. But not only that, it’s likely a regularly discussed topic in your monthly calls with your account manager.

But if you’re not a client of ours, maybe you wouldn’t even have heard of Microsoft Copilot, so we’ll try to summarize (or rather Copilot will). Here’s what it gave us:

Microsoft Copilot is an AI-powered productivity tool that integrates seamlessly with Microsoft 365 apps, enhancing user productivity and collaboration across multiple applications. It coordinates large language models (LLMs) and content from Microsoft Graph to provide a simple chat experience in apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams. Whether you’re drafting documents, analysing data, or communicating with colleagues, Copilot leverages the power of AI to boost productivity and unlock creativity.

We were extremely lucky to have been one of the 20 partners globally chosen by Microsoft to test Copilot for 365 ahead of the game, and we have been doing so since October 2023.

We got our hands on some licenses and have been fighting over them ever since – that's how awesome it is.

We could bang on about the benefits of Copilot forever, but for now we’ll give you our top three:

  • Intelligent meeting recap: No more reading long transcripts or watching lengthy videos. Copilot produces a succinct summary of all your meetings.
  • Action points: Don’t panic if you forgot to write down the actions you were supposed to take following the meeting. You can just ask Copilot and it’ll tell you exactly what you need to do.
  • Prompt suggestions: Copilot can make suggestions of specific topic points or questions to ask to get the most out of your meetings.

It’s difficult to illustrate just how amazing it is, so we’d highly recommend you visit this link to see for yourself.

Initially, we were told by Microsoft that it would become available this summer, but to our surprise (and excitement) they hit the button early and made it widely available a couple of weeks ago. We’ve been bombarded with requests by clients ever since to allow them to get their hands on it, but in true Nitec fashion we are doing the right thing for our customers by undertaking meticulous technical and security training in these early stages before we start rolling it out to our base.

That’s just how we operate. Keeping our clients’ data safe and doing the job right always comes before sales and profits – even if it does mean the client has to wait that little bit longer. The fact of the matter is, it’s for their own good.

We are, however, in the process of slowly rolling it out across our client base to the eager beavers who just can’t wait (we don’t blame you), and we’re excited for you all to experience the benefits that we’ve had access to for almost six months now.

You’ll never look back.
