Tales from the recent Microsoft 365 conference in Las Vegas
“It’s dirty work but someone has to do it”, I told our staff team as I attended my first in-person Microsoft conference since the pandemic... in Las Vegas.
Keeping abreast of all things Microsoft has always been part of the day job, but if you think technology has been difficult to keep up with in recent years, you ain’t seen nothing yet folks.
On the one hand, I was looking forward to hearing about the very latest developments across our current key security and productivity services. At one level most, if not all of our clients, have a recognition and understanding of how Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Teams are dramatically changing and improving the digital landscape they are operating in these days. And, there is more digital goodness on the way for those of you already committed to Nitec’s Journey to Modern.
What I hadn’t quite anticipated was the extent to which the much-discussed advent of Artificial Intelligence is already reshaping the technological landscape of things to come.
Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Entra, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Viva, and Microsoft Fabric are just some of the new AI-infused services that are coming to a business near you. Not that you need to panic about getting your head around any one of these new services. That’s our job!
But if you thought you could sit back and sweat your old Microsoft assets for another few years, hang onto your hat. AI is going to drag you kicking and screaming into the mid-2020s whether you like it or not.
